The Desmond Tutu Peace Centre is working to preserve the legacy of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and to enable sustainable world peace through tangible programmes.
Our aim is to develop a centre that will be a permanent home for his vision and serve as a global indaba for peace.
Building this centre is building a future where the young will understand, the marginalised will have a voice and leaders will be given an opportunity to reflect, engage and act.
It is important that the young generations of this world are inspired to work for Peace, Courage, Tolerance, Love and Hope - These are the values and building blocks of peace. We call on YOU as an individual to act, to make your pledges for peace, to inspire your peers and to be part of this global proactive peace movement.
Our 3 year strategic plan for development sets out a series of initiatives that will build on our experience to date, grow the impact we can have and continue to satisfy four organisational objectives:
1. Inspiring a commitment to peace
2. Restoring social justice for the marginalised and voiceless
3. Ensuring leaders are accountable and committed to the people they serve
4. Engaging in collaborations for peace that provides synergy and impact
Programmes under these themes will aim to encourage humanity to:

- Cultivate a true sense of family
Our focus will be:
- Young people
- Women
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- The landless and the homeless
- World leaders in politics, religion, culture and community
